Thanksgiving is such a special time of year! In the part of the country where we live, the colors on the trees are absolutely beautiful! They are a constant reminder of God’s amazing creation.

My Childhood Thanksgiving

Growing up, I remember attending early morning Thanksgiving breakfasts at our church, followed by Thanksgiving service where attendees could stand up and share different things they were thankful for. So often, we heard stories of great gratitude and testimonies of thankfulness for God’s presence and hand in people’s lives.

Thanksgiving as an Adult

Over the last few years, as our family has gathered for Thanksgiving, we have had scripture cards at our table. As we conclude dinner, we go around the table and read the scriptures aloud. It has become a special and intimate part of our Thanksgiving dinner as we reflect on God and give Him thanks!

Celebrating Thanksgiving

Perhaps during Thanksgiving, you gather with family and loved ones. Perhaps, you celebrate with co-workers, members of a church, or your neighbors. Or, perhaps you spend this day quietly at home resting from the hustle and bustle of day to day activities.

When Thanksgiving is Hard

The reality is that for some of us, Thanksgiving may be hard. For example, it may be a time where we grieve the loss of a loved one who is no longer with us. Perhaps, Thanksgiving is a time when we are reminded of some of the challenges we have faced in the previous year, or in years past.

Hope in God

Wherever you find yourself this Thanksgiving, it is my hope and prayer that you will be encouraged to know that God sees you, He cares about you, and He loves you! He really does!

You may say “But, you don’t know what I’ve been through…” or, “You don’t know what I’ve done….” The reality is, I don’t….but God does!

Thanksgiving Scripture Cards

As you read these scriptures, may they encourage your heart and be food for your soul. Each of these printable cards shares a scripture from the Bible that is about giving thanks to God. I invite you to print them, reflect on each verse, and share them with others. They are designed to be able to be used as place cards around the Thanksgiving table. You can also write inside of them to use them as Thanksgiving cards for loved ones.

Instructions

  1. In order to access these cards we will request that you join our newsletter by clicking HERE and entering your email address. (Don’t worry, you can unsubscribe anytime!;) As a recipient of the newsletter you will be among the first to receive notice of new posts that we share, as well as special freebies, and printables!:) Upon entering your email, you will also be given access to the FREE Printable Thanksgiving Bible Verse Place Cards document!:) It is a high resolution PDF that includes 12 Thanksgiving scripture cards.
  2. YES, I WANT the PRINTABLE THANKSGIVING BIBLE VERSE CARDS
  3. Save the file to your computer OR Print the file directly to your home color printer. (I recommend using card-stock paper.)
  4. If you prefer, you can choose to print at your local print shop. To do so, email the file to your printshop with instructions to print in color on cardstock paper.
  5. Once your files have been printed, you should have 12 Bible Verse place cards.
  6. Use scissors to carefully cut out the cards
  7. Fold them in half
  8. Share by displaying at your Thanksgiving table or giving them to others as a Thanksgiving card. (These can be great for neighbors, friends, family, teachers, co-workers, etc…)
